Geology

Currently, my focus is on managing the museum’s bedrock core collection. This includes research regarding the geologic formations and properties of each core as well as maintenance and organization of the cores themselves.

My previous research topics include characterization of New York’s sedimentary rock sequence as it pertains to petroleum exploration and carbon sequestration potential. I have worked on the Trenton-Black River hydrothermal dolomite gas play, and investigated the reservoir properties of numerous sandstones across the state for their ability to store carbon dioxide.
