The Matthewis Persen House Museum participated in the 2023 New York State Path Through History Weekend, which was held last Saturday, June 17th. This exciting event, coincided with the celebration of Juneteenth, which showcased the rich and fascinating history of New York State through a variety of engaging activities and events held at historic and cultural destinations across the state.

The Matthewis Persen House Museum, located at 74 John Street on the corner of Crown and John Streets in uptown Kingston, shined a spotlight on a special exhibit titled “Africans in America & Antiquity,” provided by Transart & Cultural Services, Inc. This extraordinary exhibition chronicled the history and culture of people of African descent in the Mid-Hudson Valley of New York State, celebrating their recent triumphs and acknowledging their enduring struggles.
